Making Autistic Strides is an independent, non-profit, 501(C3) organization dedicated to Raising Autism Awareness across the nation. We are a parent run  South Florida based charity established in 2009. It is our mission to work the puzzle together while spreading awareness enhancing the quality of life and educational experiences of individuals touched by the Autism Spectrum Disorders. Our goals are to empower and inspire parents to participate in their children's development and educational successes. Did you know ...

• Autism now affects 1 in 110 children and 1 in 70 boys.

• Boys are four times more likely than girls to have autism.

• In the past 10-15 years, cases of autism have risen 172 percent. In this same amount of time, the U.S. population only grew 13 percent, and cases of disabilities rose 16 percent.

• More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with Down syndrome, AIDS, cystic fibrosis, diabetes & all forms of childhood cancer combined.

• Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability. In the United States, a new case of autism is identified almost every 20 minutes.

• Care of autistic individuals costs approximately $90 billion per year. This dollar amount is expected to more than double, or even quadruple, over the next five years.

• Autism receives less than 5% of the research funding of many less prevalent childhood diseases.

• There is no medical detection or cure for autism.

• Autism became a special education exceptionality in 1991, and it is the sixth most commonly found disability acknowledged in public schools today.
